We can go to any Crematorium any where in the country if required, however there are a number of crematoriums local to us that most families choose to use. Crewe, Macclesfield and Birches at Northwich.
Crewe and Macclesfield
Crewe and Macclesfield are smaller crematoriums that are owned and run by Cheshire East Council. Both of these have a single chapel for services and get very busy. The standard service times are usually limited to 30 minutes however it is possible to book a double slot at both, but it does cost extra and is subject to having the next slot available.
They are more suited to smaller funerals as they have relatively small chapels. Under normal circumstances Crewe has a maximum capacity of 106 and Macclesfield has 78. Standing room is available at both. With current Covid 19 restrictions, a maximum of 10 people are allowed to attend.
Both have the facility to record and web cast funeral services and are set it nice surroundings. Both are easy to get to, are well known locally and have reasonable levels of parking available.
All coffins used must be FFMA accredited and crematorium is pledged to keep environmental impact as low as possible.

Birches Remembrance Park and Crematorium.
Birches is situated at Northwich and only opened in April 2020. It is privately owned and has been designed and built for purpose. In our opinion it is the nicest crematorium in the area, and it’s set in beautiful grounds that make up the memorial park. From Congleton it’s only about 4 miles further to drive than both Macclesfield and Crewe but it’s worth the journey.
Services are 1 hour as standard and the booking staff go to great lengths to ensure that where possible, funerals are spaced out allowing people a lot of time to arrive and leave. There is also a large car park.
The chapel is modern and very spacious, it has 82 permanent seats and also features two 86” screens that can be used for video presentations, photo shows etc. Outside the chapel is an entrance foyer again equipped with seats and a large display. This room adds further capacity as people can stand and see the service via the video link and audio system. Under normal conditions it would be possible to accommodate over 120 people if needed.
We were the first Funeral Director based in Congleton to hold services at Birches and in our experience the staff are very friendly and will always go the extra mile for us, to help us ensure that we can deliver perfect funeral services.
Beyond the chapel is the memorial park, which features a number of unique gardens. From wildflower, to wildlife there is a lot to see. Natalie, the head gardener is working really hard to ensure that she builds an environment where people can come and just sit and remember and celebrate their loved ones. There is also the facility to scatter ashes within the gardens.
Birches is also a great location for us to hold Eco-Funerals as they offer a little more flexibility when it comes to coffin choices.
Birches costs just a little bit more than Crewe and Macclesfield, but its money well spent when you consider the full hour availability and large capacity of attendees that it holds.
